All Patients undergoing anesthesia will recieve:

  • Pre-Anesthetic Exam- Examination performed by a veterinarian prior to administering anesthesia.
  • Pre-Anesthetic Bloodwork- Bloodwork tells us how your pet is doing on the inside prior to administering anesthesia to help minimize unseen risks.
  • IV Catheters- All patients under anesthesia will have an IV catheter placed. This allows for administration of fluids, pain medication and, in emergencies, life saving medications.
  • Surgical Monitoring- Consistent monitoring of blood pressure, oxygen level, heart and respiratory rate during procedure.
  • Warm Air System- patients are placed on or around warm air cushions during procedures to help maintain a safe body temperature as anesthesia lowers this.
  • Warming Kennel System- After anesthetic procedures, patients are placed in a warming kennel until they are able to maintain a safe regular body temperature.
  • Pain Managment- Patients are administered pain medications in anticipation and prevention of pain through pre-procedure injections, IV medications and/or pain patches placed prior to waking. Kimberly Crest Veterinary Hospital follows the AAHA/AAFP Pain Management Guidelines for Cats and Dogs.
