The Frankie Fund

The Frankie Fund was established in 2003 in honor of Frankie VanSeveren. Frankie was a 10 year-old one hundred pound rescued greyhound who was not only a patient but also a friend. Frankie's kind heart and gentle personality made him very easy to love. His willingness and his family's selflessness helped more families and pets than we could list by becoming a blood donor. At the drop of a hat his family would bring him in to donate blood for a critical patient in need. Not only did the VanSeverens allow Frankie to donate blood, they covered the costs of blood collection stating, "Any dog that needed a transfusion would already have many expenses." Frankie and his family truly made an impact on all of us. The purpose The Frankie Fund is to provide a fund to help offset the costs for rescued animals or dedicated families that have reached their financial limit in an extremely complex illness. We most recently provided care for an Italian Spinone that has had chronic weight loss that had not responded to any treatment. The Frankie Fund provided for exploratory surgery that led to the diagnosis of the problem. We are waiting to see if our new treatment can help her turn the corner. Although not tax deductible, The Frankie Fund is funded solely by hospital and client contributions. For information on how you can donate to The Frankie Fund either on your behalf, in memorium, or as a gift for someone, please contact us.
